This is a salutation to the interpretation, vagueness and inconsistency, with which we relate to the truth.

Iasonas Kampanis was born in 1985 in Athens. He studied jewelry design and fine arts at the Mokume Institute in Thessaloniki.
Since 2009 he is working with painting, photography and digital media.

He is inspired mainly by themes and motifs related to the history of painting, the Mediterranean tradition and pop culture.

In 2020 he was selected in the ARTWORKS Stavros Niarchos Foundation Artist Fellowship Program.

He has collaborated and exhibited, among others, with Rebecca Camhi Gallery, curator Marina Fokidis, the 61st Thessaloniki International Film Festival and MoMus, KEIV (Athens), Victoria Square Project (Athens), kunsthallekleinbasel (Basel), scenographer Pulcheria Tzova, director Maria Panourgia at Onassis Stegi (Athens), director Maria Gaitanidi, actress Stacy Martin, Islington Arts Factory (London), Lubomirov/Angus Hughes Gallery (London), Ligne Roset (London), Design Exchange magazine, London Print Studio (London), Christie’s Head of Prints & Multiples Murray Macaulay, performer Irina Osterberg, and zoologist Desmond Morris.

He has also been engaged in printmaking, scenic design, film and theater productions, Byzantine murals and educational programs. Since 2017 he delivers painting and visual perception seminars at his studio.

Ο Ιάσoνας Καμπάνης γεννήθηκε το 1985 στην Αθήνα. Σπούδασε σχεδιασμό κοσμήματος στην Σχολή Τεχνών Mokume της Θεσσαλονίκης.
Από το 2009 ασχολείται με τη ζωγραφική, τη φωτογραφία και τα ψηφιακά μέσα.

Εμπνέεται κυρίως από θέματα και μοτίβα που σχετίζονται με την ιστορία της ζωγραφικής, τη Μεσογειακή παράδοση και την ποπ κουλτούρα.

Το 2020 επιλέχθηκε στο Πρόγραμμα Υποστήριξης Καλλιτεχνών ‘Ιδρυμα Στάυρος Νιάρχος ARTWORKS.

Έχει συνεργαστεί και εκθέσει, μεταξύ άλλων, με την Αίθουσα Τέχνης Ρεβέκκα Καμχή, την επιμελήτρια Μαρίνα Φωκίδη, το 61ο Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου Θεσσαλονίκης και το MoMus, το KEIV (Αθήνα), το Victoria Square Project (Αθήνα), την kunsthallekleinbasel (Βασιλεία), τη σκηνογράφο Πουλχερία Τζόβα, τη σκηνοθέτη Μαρία Πανουργιά, τη Στέγη Ωνάση (Αθήνα), τη σκηνοθέτη Μαρία Γαϊτανίδη, την ηθοποιό Stacy Martin, το Islington Arts Factory (Λονδίνο), τη Lubomirov/Angus Hughes Gallery (Λονδίνο), το London Print Studio (Λονδίνο), τη Ligne Roset (Λονδίνο), το περιοδικό Design Exchange, τον διευθυντή του Christie’s Prints & Multiples Murray Macaulay, την ερμηνεύτρια Irina Osterberg και τον ζωολόγο Desmond Morris.

Έχει επίσης ασχοληθεί με τη χαρακτική, τη σκηνογραφία, τις κινηματογραφικές και θεατρικές παραγωγές, τις βυζαντινές τοιχογραφίες και τα εκπαιδευτικά προγράμματα. Από το 2017 παραδίδει σεμινάρια ζωγραφικής και οπτικής αντίληψης στο εργαστήριο του.
